Use this number to announce class cancellations or delays: 03-3409-9527. There are three individuals at kyomuka responsible for English Department affairs: Maruko-san 丸子さん・Kobayashi-san 小林さん・and Yanagisawa-san 八木澤さん. However, anyone who answers the phone can receive and process your announcement. Contact kyomuka through email (at [email protected]) ONLY when the message isn’t time sensitive. There is a possibility that an email won’t be seen if sent the morning of the cancellation. You should always call in to confirm the receipt of your email if you inform Kyomuka by email.
In addition, contact students directly through the Moodle, Google Classroom, or whatever other LMS you might be using to be sure that students get the message one way or another.
As there’s no guarantee that the staff member you reach at the Student Center (kyomuka) will be able to communicate in English, be prepared to convey your message through Japanese. Some translations of common class cancellation or delay messages have been prepared for your convenience:
