We expect teachers to teach on all assigned days unless they are sick, have an emergency, or are on official business. Teachers are not permitted to be absent simply to accommodate travel plans or other personal activities. You must notify the Student Center (Building 17, 2F) for all absences. Do not make independent arrangements with students if you are absent. If you will be absent or late for class due to an illness or emergency, telephone the Student Center directly at 03-3409-7830.
For other official absences (for example, to attend an academic conference), please notify both the Student Center and your students in advance. If you miss more than two classes per semester, you are expected to give make-up classes for each missed class. Teachers are also encouraged to assign homework when classes are missed due to a teacher’s absence. Please begin and end classes on time.
