Call for Instructors

Aoyama Gakuin University’s Department of English, in the Faculty of Literature, is seeking instructors for a variety of classes in its Integrated English Program. The classes are all held at its Aoyama Campus, in the Omotesando area of Shibuya.

Job details:
Position: Part-time one-year contract, renewable upon mutual agreement

Teaching days: The courses in the Integrated English Program (IEP) are held on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Courses: Four-skills English courses, and ones concentrating on listening or writing, for first and second year English majors.

Campus: 4-4-25 Shibuya, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo, 150-8366

  • 10 minutes’ walk from Shibuya Station on the JR Yamanote Line, JR Saikyo Line, Tokyu Line, Keio Inokashira Line, Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line, and other lines.
  • 5 minutes’ walk from Omotesando Station on the Tokyo Metro (Ginza Line, Chiyoda Line, and Hanzomon Line)

Start date: April 1st, 2024 

Compensation: According to the university pay scale

Qualifications:
(1) Master’s (or higher) degree in TESOL or closely related field
(2) Advanced proficiency in English with a working knowledge of Japanese
(3) Three or more academic publications
(4) Three years or more of teaching experience at the university level (at least some of it in Japan)
