Self Introduction
I’m currently the co-coordinator of the Integrated English (IE) Program and a member of the Communications Unit of Aoyama Gakuin University’s English Department. Having had a lifelong interest in language and culture, I now teach seminars and lectures in intercultural communication, IE seminars on food culture and critical thinking about controversial issues, and graduate seminars in textual analysis. I grew up in San Jose, California but have lived in Japan more than half of my life. I love teaching at AGU.
Message to Students
Your time at AGU will go by in the blink of an eye, so make sure you make the most of your experiences here. Cherish friendships with your classmates, the opportunities to learn from your teachers’ store of knowledge and wisdom, and take advantage of all that Tokyo has to offer in terms of cultural experiences and opportunities for growth. Serve as a volunteer if you have the time to make even more friends and to broaden your horizons. To find out about special events at AGU, and in the wider community, that involve the use of English refer to this page from time to time: https://www.agu4u.org/ .
