Teaching methods. Teachers should thoroughly review the course descriptions for the courses they will be teaching to ensure that they follow the curriculum and that students use English communicatively. In other words, students should learn how to express themselves and use “real English” in real situations. This goal is usually understood by students, at least superficially, but they often have not yet developed the appropriate learning strategies to enable them to achieve it. It is important, therefore, for the teacher to clearly explain the goals and objectives of each course so that students have a clear idea of what is expected of them. We recognize the difficulties in bringing students from a passive, lecture-oriented approach to an interactive, learner-centered approach, but this is precisely the challenge we would like to meet.
