Self Introduction
I was born in the U.S. on a small island near Charleston, South Carolina. My hobbies include singing, traveling, and doing marine sports. Before coming to Japan, I taught English as a foreign language to students and business professionals in the U.S. and France. I also taught English as a Peace Corps Volunteer in a Moroccan high school in northwest Africa. In 1997, I came to Japan to teach English and have been teaching at Japanese universities since then. My research interests include inter-cultural communication, computer-assisted language learning, learner autonomy, and motivation.
